There are more than a 253,000,000 profiles on the MySpace network of Film - Production - Cinematography.

David White is one of them. A prolific, talented and consistently creative independent film maker.

Like Stan Brakhage did, David White writes, prepares, shoots and edits his movies virtually unaided.
David White films encompasses almost the entire range of stylistic forms, from narrative (Woody Allen's "Melinda & Melinda" style) to overtly stylistic (Chris Marker's "La Jetée" style) with films like an adaptation of the Andrew Biss play "Indigenous Peoples" and "Doe". Unlike Woody Allen who stated that, "If my film makes one more person miserable, I'll feel I've done my job", David White entertains with, what appears to be, deeply superficial dialog wrapped up inside an MGM musical done in drag!
Despite these comparisons, David White has a vision and film style that is totally original, captivating and brutally honest.
David White disturbs our expectation of film art with imbalances and contradictions in his work. We may feel disoriented but we are urged to try out anticipations more appropriate for this type of film. This way, we find ourselves involved more deeply. Or not at all.
David White depends greatly on the willingness of the audience to suspend the laws of ordinary experience and accept a new set of conventions as proposed by his stylistic approach and dialog. Clearly a David White film is not for everyone but if you get it, you'll love it.
Raising controversy not so much for the subjects he tackles but for his stylistic approach we believe that David White is a talented and fearless filmmaker that can only succeed.
